Terms, Conditions and Policies
Legal Notice & UK Knife Law Compliance
Compliance with United Kingdom Law
The Blade Medic operates strictly within United Kingdom law. We will not undertake any work on knives or bladed articles that are illegal to possess, carry, sell, or modify under current legislation.
We will also refuse to carry out any modification that could render an otherwise lawful knife illegal, including but not limited to alterations to blade length, locking mechanisms, concealment features, or opening systems.
If an item is presented to us which is believed to be unlawful, we reserve the right to refuse service immediately.
Where required, and in line with our legal and moral obligations, The Blade Medic may report such items to the local constabulary.
Customer Responsibility
It is the sole responsibility of the customer to ensure that any knife or bladed article submitted to The Blade Medic is legal to own, transport, and present for service.
By engaging our services, you confirm that:
You are legally entitled to possess the item.
The item complies with UK law.
You are transporting or shipping it lawfully.
Transporting Bladed Articles
When travelling to or from our premises, customers are strongly advised to:
Carry blades in a locked container or case.
Place the container in the boot of the vehicle, away from immediate access.
Travel directly to and from the appointment without unnecessary stops.
An appointment slip or booking confirmation provided by The Blade Medic may be used as evidence of “good reason” for carrying the item. However, the decision as to whether this constitutes a lawful reason rests solely with the attending law-enforcement officer.
If you are uncertain about lawful transportation, we recommend contacting us in advance. In some circumstances, we may be able to arrange collection of the item.
Limitation of Liability – Legal Consequences
Neither The Blade Medic, nor its owners, directors, employees, or agents shall be held liable for any legal action, prosecution, seizure, or penalties arising from the carrying, use, transport, shipping, or possession of bladed articles before, during, or after any service provided.
Limitation of Liability – Injury or Damage
The Blade Medic accepts no responsibility for injuries, accidents, or damage caused by bladed articles:
Prior to being received by us,
During the sharpening or restoration process,
Or after the item has been returned to the customer.
All bladed articles are inherently dangerous tools, and users assume full responsibility for their safe handling and use at all times.
Trademark Notice
“The Blade Medic” is a trading name for which trademark registration is currently pending.
Any unauthorised use of this term, or confusingly similar names or branding, will be pursued.
Shipping & Delivery Policy
Dispatch Timeframes
All items purchased from The Blade Medic shop will be dispatched within seven (7) days of cleared payment being received.
In most cases, orders are shipped much sooner — typically within one to two working days.
Dispatch times may vary slightly during busy periods, holidays, or where additional processing is required. Customers will be notified if any significant delay is anticipated.
Shipping Method
We ship orders using Royal Mail Tracked 48.
Once dispatched, customers will receive:
A confirmation notification; and
A tracking number to follow the delivery progress.
Delivery times quoted by carriers are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Carrier Responsibility
While we take care to package all items securely, The Blade Medic is not responsible for any delay, loss, theft, or damage caused by the postal or courier service once the item has been handed over for delivery.
Any claims relating to late or missing deliveries must be raised with the carrier directly. We will, where reasonable, assist customers by providing tracking information and dispatch confirmation.
Delivery Address Accuracy
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all delivery details are correct at the time of ordering.
The Blade Medic accepts no liability for items delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer.
Where an item is returned to us due to incorrect or incomplete address details, additional postage costs may apply before re-dispatch.
Failed Deliveries & Returned Items
If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful and the parcel is:
Returned to us by the carrier; or
Held pending further instructions,
we will contact the customer to arrange re-delivery.
Re-shipping costs will be payable by the customer unless the error occurred on our part.
Age-Restricted Items
Some products may be subject to age-restriction laws.
By placing an order, customers confirm that they are legally permitted to purchase and receive such items. Delivery drivers may require proof of age upon receipt.
All restored, repaired, or sharpened items will be returned using Royal Mail Tracked 48 with age-verification on delivery.
International Shipping (If Applicable)
Where international shipping is offered, customers are responsible for:
Ensuring the item is legal to import into their country;
Any customs charges, import duties, or taxes levied; and
Delays caused by customs inspections.
The Blade Medic accepts no responsibility for items seized or delayed by customs authorities.
Packaging & Discretion
All items are packaged securely and discreetly to ensure safety in transit and to protect customer privacy.
Contact Regarding Shipping
If you have questions about shipping, delivery, or tracking your order, please contact us at zak@theblademedic.co.uk before placing an order so we can advise appropriately.
Returns & Refunds Policy
Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
Returns for Shop Purchases (Physical Goods)
Customers have the right to cancel and return most online purchases within 14 days of receiving the item.
To be eligible for a return:
The item must be unused, in its original condition, and in original packaging where reasonably possible.
You must notify us in writing within the 14-day period that you wish to return the item.
The item must then be returned promptly.
Return Postage
Unless the item is faulty or sent in error, customers are responsible for the cost of return postage.
We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured postal service, as The Blade Medic is not responsible for items lost or damaged while being returned to us.
Refund Processing
Once the returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.
If approved, refunds will be processed to the original payment method within a reasonable timeframe.
Original outward postage costs are non-refundable unless the item was faulty or incorrect.
Faulty or Incorrect Items
If you receive an item that is faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible with photographs and order details.
Where appropriate, we may offer:
A replacement;
A repair; or
A refund, in line with consumer law.
Sharpening & Restoration Services
Payments for sharpening, restoration, or similar services are required in advance.
Due to the bespoke and irreversible nature of this work:
No refunds will be issued once work has commenced, regardless of outcome.
If a cancellation is requested before work has begun, a refund may be issued at our discretion, minus any non-recoverable costs already incurred.
Once a blade has been sharpened, repaired, or restored, the service is considered completed.
Deposits & Advance Payments
Any deposits or upfront payments taken for services or special orders are non-refundable once work has started or materials have been ordered specifically for that job.
Items Not Eligible for Return
Returns may be refused for:
Items showing signs of use, damage, or alteration after delivery;
Custom-made or personalised products (where permitted by law);
Items returned outside the 14-day window without prior agreement.
Exchanges
We do not guarantee exchanges. Where agreed, customers may be responsible for postage costs in both directions.

To request a return, please contact us with:
Your name and order number;
The item(s) concerned; and
The reason for return.
